International Jewellery Design Excellence Award

I am very excited to let you all know that I have been awarded a prize in the International Jewellery Design Excellence Award, which is held in Hong Kong (coinciding with the International Jewellery Trade Fair).

My 'Precious Limb Bangle' was entered in the IJDE Award last year following my award in the Australian Jewellery Design Awards. I have been awarded one of 12 prizes - The Merit Award.

Australia Council for The Arts = New Work!

After recovering from the Tasmanian Craft Fair for 2010, I am now well under way with planning, designing and prototyping new work towards a project which will be funded by the Australia Council for the Arts. I have been extremely lucky to have been awarded an Emerging Artists Grant (New Work). I hope to exhibit the project in September 2011 - dates TBA.

Tasmanian Craft Fair 2010

Four lovely days in Deloraine (Northern Tasmania) and the Tasmanian Craft Fair is all over! I was very lucky to be selected as this years 'Emerging Artist' - and as a result was given a fabulous spot (front and centre) in Venue #5. I had a very successful fair (even though it was my fisrt appreance) and would like to thank the Craft Fair Committee, The Rotary Club of Deloraine, all the volunteers, Paula Catchpole, Nikki Atkins and last but not least John Dare (Craft Fair Director) for all of their hard work, support and help both during the lead up and over the five days we were there! A fantastic job by a fantastic community.

Tasmanian Craft Fair 2010

September has been a busy month - between getting organised for the Deloraine Craft Fair and making extra stock for Xmas... well, its been busy!

JAA Award 2010 - Finalist!!!

After uncountable hours of manufacture my entry for this years JAA Australian Jewellery Awards finally got done... and... today I was notified that my entry Precious Limb Bangle (above) has been selected as a finalist in the Peter W Beck Precious Metal Award!!!! The bangle is die formed in 18ct gold and grain set with 145 round brilliant cut diamonds.
The awards will be presented at the offical awards night to be held in Sydney on Monday, 30 August 2010.

Contemporary Wearables 09 - On Tour to Hobart!

The National biennial jewellery award, 'Contemporary Wearables 09' is coming to Hobart! This selected competition features the work of local Jeweller Phill Mason and Myself!!! We are the sole Tasmanian participants in this years award - and very proud of it!! My series 'Limber Up' will be on display as part of the touring exhibition (the award tours Nationally to various regional galleries). The exhibition will open @ The Barn in Rosny on Thursday 22nd April @ 5.30pm, and will run until the 13th of May. Click on the image to read more!

I am busily getting ready for what will no doubt be a busy, fun and exciting day at the market this weekend! Sunday 11th April will be the first Birthday of the Market @ The Masonic Temple - 3 Sandy Bay Road, from 10-3pm.

There will be a lucky door prize so come along and sign up for the mailing list and you will instantly be in the running for a hamper filled with goodies (donated by stallholders - what a prize!!!!!).

Eastside Makers Market

Another successful market day @ The Eastside Makers Market! - This was the first ever market and a big congratualtions to Suzi and the lovely ladies on the market committee.

A lovely mixture of stallholders, the temptation to spend up was too great and I came home with a lovely print from Ruby Victoria Press, and a gorgeous little bag/purse from Loopee Designs

Also, a very big thank you to all of the customers and market goers for your lovely feedback and support!!
